Philip Archer - Producer

Studio Owner, Managing Director, Head Engineer

Phil founded and has run Crucial Productions Inc. for the past 15 years. Armed with a degree in Recording Engineering from Full Sail University for the Recording Arts in Florida, Phil started Crucial as an audio recording and production facility. He quickly became known as the go-to provider of high-quality jingles and music beds, thanks to his extensive experience as a musician and performing artist with local bands, which began as a teenager. With the acquisition of Longbow Communications in 2007, Crucial Productions has expanded to become a full service audio and video production faciliyty, providing a range of services to local, regional and international clients. His facility at Pine Road, Belleville now includes a soundstage, green screen and live broadcast capabilities.

Phil has produced over a dozen Addy Award winning television and radio commercials and sat on judging and conference panels at conventions and conferences. Amongst his satisfied international clients are: McDonalds (U.S. Virgin Islands), FLOW (Barbados & Caribbean), Warner Brothers - Los Angeles, Superlotto (Caribbean), Vox Generation (London), Virgin Atlantic (Caribbean), Liat (Caribbean), Heineken, Scotiabank, First Caribbean International Bank and Producers Choice – Toronto.

He recently has produced several live and prerecorded TV shows and live broadcast concerts & shows for FLOW TV as a part of Crucial's preferred content partnership. These include the FLOW Soca On The Hill Concert 2016, Miss Universe Barbados 2016, 6 A.M. & Sharp morning show, The Insider: CEO Edition, and "Playback" - all broadcast on FLOW TV Channel 99.

Michael Edwards - Cinematographer & Director of Photography

Michael is a camera and lighting operator with over 25 years experience. He has lit and lensed numerous ADDY award winning commercials and is a popular freelancer for visiting international broadcasters including NBC and ITV. Last year he was flown in to join the production team in New York working on the video of the 25th Anniversary celebrations for Spike Lee's Do The Right Thing.

Amery Butcher - Camera Assistant
A 26-year-old Barbadian writer, photographer and videographer. He is currently a final year student at the Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination pursuing his passion in the art of filmmaking. Amery excels in the field of cinematography and photography and has traveled the Caribbean as a photographer producing work for companies such as Flow, Barbados Today, Nation Publishing Co. Ltd, U.N. Aid, NatGeo, Zing Magazine, Caribbean's Next Top Model, N.C.F. and the Community Development Department. He has also been an integral part of the production of music videos for artist such as Debbie Reifer (The Ruins), Adaeze (3X A Dae) and Neesha Woodz (Stand Up For Christ). Amery was also a member of the documentary team for the Barbados contingent of CARIFESTA 2015 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Aerial Videography & Photography

Above Barbados are licensed & insured aerial video & photography specialists. Utilising remote-controlled quadcopters / multi-rotor uavs / drones.

At the 2016 Barbados Film & Video Association awards, Above Barbados were awarded the inaugural Drone Film category award for our film Rising Forwards - "Barbados at 50."

Alyson Holder - Photographer

Born and raised in the Caribbean, has been making a name for herself in the photography world with her recent body of work. The talented young photographer is known throughout the region for her creativity and innovate thinking. Alyson has a keen interest in creating stunning iconic images through visuals as she achieves a certain intimacy with the subject as well as the opportunity to capture their subtle nuances. Her varying projects are a series of experiments in production and circumstance.

Alyson's client list includes local and regional published magazines and newspapers as well as top-brands including Ralph Lauren, Terra Caribbean, Red Door Bar and Lounge, Nishi Restaurant, Silver Point Hotel, Republic 21, Lucid Bar and Lounge, Infusion Catering Services, Zulu International, Aura Experience, Eye Focus Inc. and international designers Coco and Breezy.

Travis Springer - Audio Specialist

Audio Engineer Travis Springer received his education from The Institute of Audio Research in New York as well as Full Sail University in Florida, receiving a B.Sc. in Recording Arts. Travis’ main focus is in Audio for film where he’s worked on various films and TV series in the US and Barbados whether that be in Post Production or on set as a Recorder/Mixer. He is also involved in various aspects of music production and TV Broadcast as a freelancer in Barbados.

Michael Watkins - Digital Video Specialist, 3D & 2D Animation, Motion Graphics, Video Editing - ADDY Award Winner

Michael has a diploma in Electrical Engineering, Advanced Videography, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Animation from Concordia University Montreal QC, Canada in 2001.

Having taught courses in 3D Animation at the Ministry of Education, as well as courses at Barbados Community College in Video Editing, Motion Graphics, and Web Programming, he is proficient in spoken and written French. Having conceptualized and produced the 3D animated intro and extro of the Caribbean Super Lotto show, he is perfectly poised to work on this project in pre-production.

Michael has been a key developer and coder in Crucial Productions' proprietary multilayered graphics playback system, which is the only one of its kind in Barbados. He is a no-nonsense, hard-working individual, and is a highly valued addition to the Crucial Productions team.
